This unit attracted my attention mostly because of the styling, as it looks almost identical to a factory installed unit. My experience with the company was very good. Any questions were answered quickly by Allen, and he also provided numerous updates after my order.
The overall experience of ordering, installing, and using was good, although there were a few road bumps along the way. The first being no integrated diversity antenna adapter included. Allen had be buy an adapter from Amazon so I could get the radio to work. The adapter mostly works, although I'll need to order another one that is more specific to my car. I was also concerned about the wiring harness (labeled as for a Prius), but found quickly that it was absolutely the correct one. After all was attached and wired up, I had to struggle to get the head unit/HVAC back into the dash. It looks like the holes for the mounting brackets in the head unit are *just a little* off. a little bend in the brackets and everything got into place. Using the unit is pretty straightforward, and gives decent performance for everything I want. I mostly wanted to get Apple CarPlay capability, and this unit provides that through and Android app called "Speedplay". I will say that when starting the vehicle, the booting of Android and eventually Speedplay seems to take forever. I would guess 1-2 minutes before the unit is usable. Occasionally, Speedplay will fail to connect to my iPhone, and I'll just have to wait until I stop and start the car again - usually comes back the second time. Also, Speedplay and the Android OS on the head unit cannot manually switch between phones. When my wife wants to borrow the car, I have to re-pair her phone before she can use CarPlay (Speedplay), and I have to do the same whenever I re-take possession of the car.
Overall, this was an excellent value as an upgrade to my 12 year old Avalon, and saved me several hundred dollars over what a brick-and-mortar car audio shop wanted. Customer service shines for this company, and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for this upgrade!
