Ok, When ordering the Main page you must do your selections on that screen NOT the Cart, and you can make adjustment for extras afte you get to the cart, otherwise your total will not be what you expect, they mean "DON"T NEED" and say "NOT NEED" and they really should put the additional features (ex. Rear view camera, etc.) and prices on the checkout CART side.
The Radio is an exact fit, but thanks to NO INSTRUCTIONS it took about 4 hours to complete the installation. Took me about 15 minutes to remove the old one.
Either way you save about $200-$300 bucks doing it yourself and my labor is free.
If you have a Convertible in hind sight I would have put the window and top down if you have a carport or garage for easier access for the installation, I am 6'3".
I only unhooked the cars electrical wiring on the console shifter portion, (4 simple squeeze tab type and they only fit their associated females) mine was an automatic transmission/shifter section off), then you will need to turn the underside of shifter knob knurled plastic collar nut a half turn counter clock wise and then pull the knob straight up ( I put in Neural position before popping the rear up and you have to remove two screws for the ash tray and cigarette light to complete the removal) Then you can remove the whole shifter console plate, and all other parts have long enough wiring to simply move out of your way, that way you don't have to worry about breaking the plastic tabs trying to remove them, if you want to remove them go ahead and waste your time.
Some moron was in the dash first and over tightened screws and caused two on the A/C controls to be broken in mine, so just finger tighten them.
They do not have any instructions and give you two main power adaptor pigtails, so when you attach the one you think it is it will blow a couple fuses before you pick the one that ends in 3, for a 2006 SLK280. The Pigtail comes with a antenna end that you THINK works directly with the unit and won't need the female port that comes with the unit. And you would be mistaken. So you will need the one that looks like a male prong with a dual port white end, use only one side of that white end that fits your cars female supply from its antenna. The supply a large to small antenna adaptor that I did not need. The CANBUS box will need to be used and my SLK series was 2 down 2 up for the red toggles on the unit, just read what you need for your model.I didn't use the USB pigtail as we had one on the passenger side console . The antenna for the GPS, I ran the cable on the left of the drink holder, push it in the crack top left drivers side before I installed the Radio and left a foot of cord and ran it with the cable exposed along the edge of the top centered speaker and used the CANBUS Velcro (As I just left it loose in the dash with the other adaptors and wires that I did not use as not to lose them in the future behind the ash tray on the carpet before I reversed this whole process putting it back together, as well as the cable that I did not have to use with the amplifier and separate speaker/amp hook ups that are colored red, white, yellow, blue ends (VCR and AUDIO) in case someone wanted to put a amp in later and they would have it.
The reverse camera I hooked the two matching yellow male and female prongs together, and the two small red wires together with a wire nut and just shoved the 3 meters of left over cord buy pushing the bottom of the console cover out and dropping it down by the drivers shin with the red and black wire you "NOT NEED" (Will need) as you will have to figure out how to run that to the back to the trunk and find your reverse light and hook power to Power and ground to the ground wire of that light, and the tag light cover will have to be removed and the one they supply fits right in there with the camera already attached,
All the males fit only one fitting supplied on the new radio, so don't worry about screwing that up. And before you get started unhook the positive wire from your battery, until you are ready. Again this should work on SLK's
I hope it helps. Overall the unit worked great, Bluetooth connected, GPS, I set my home address as a shortcut and then picked an address and it found it quickly. still will have to figure out how to properly use all the Radio's features, but all the speakers worked properly and the last Mercedes I did it needed adaptors, trim kit, wire to wire connections, and was ugly and a real pain in the Tush to install. This is a direct fit with all the supplied pigtails and adaptors.
So I am going to rate this 5 star for the Product.
Be patient when you press the Round dial to turn it on as the Mercedes symbol cycles a bit before it says it is ready to play radio, dvd, etc.
I hope this helps, I have installed about 50 stereo's in my day and they all came with instructions. And every product I have ever had that requires assembly or installation did have instructions. I mean for someone doing this the first time, I could imagine a lot of discouragement, and it is not fun to fail. The satisfaction of doing it yourself is a great reward and saves money.
The company does its best to communicate via email, but should be horse whipped for sending a product with NO INSTRUCTIONS.
Here is a link to removal of you stereo to help. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_gf0Lgi_HY
